After the success of Animagic in 1999, of course there had to be a second nearly a year later. It was held in Koblenz again at the same convention center.
The ticket prices remained mainly the same.
Let's look at the convention guide!
It seems the organizers learned with many guests come many needs and they established a place for people to ask questions or complain.>
Again the organizers got great guests of honor: Famous Mangaka Kia Asamiya and Tadashi Ozawa whou you might know from the Let's draw Manga books. Also Susumu Sasaki who worked with Kia Asamiya at that time and Jürgen Seebeck who is the translated Dragaonball, Akira, Battle Angel Alita and Astro Boy into german.
Sadly I was not clever enough to get an autograph...I think I was mainly running around and being overstimulated like the year before.
Like the year before there were five rooms to watch anime. At the cinema there was only one movie shown, but it was the first ever showing of Perfect Blue in germany.
The Tsuki no Senshi were back, this time with a whole new show featuring songs and play from different Anime. The cosplay contest (that is still called costume contest) is now two hours and the auction is back on sunday. New is the group Miyu from Poland who did covers from many different Anime openings like the banger Kiseki no Umi from the Record of Lodoss War TV series. I remember that I was very impressed by them!

In 2000 there was even more Cosplayers than the year before and the quality of costumes kept improving even though wigs were still hard to come by. There was quite a lot of Final Fantasy 8 cosplayers which made me happy since me and my friends were very much into FF8 at that time. (Well it came out in October 1999 and I was sooooo hyped seeing the commercial on TV for the first time. I had to get it as soon as possible.)
Winner of the cosplay contest was a Zeiram Cosplayer from Iria: Zeiram the Animation.
Like the year before I visited Animagic with my parents but I also had two friends from school join me. We had lots of fun at the auction on sunday. It was actually a friend of one of my friends from school who won the big Sailor Moon doll (that lost its arm while being carried away). He owned a photo studio and intended to use it as a prop there.
