NonkiCon was held June 24th and 25th of 2023 in Stadthalle Speyer, Germany
I was really looking forward to the first 'real' NonkiCon. A small cozy convention with artists, workshops and a park to enjoy.
Since I was still very much into Octopath Traveler and wanted a comfy costume I made a Tressa cosplay which was very practical since she as a merchant has bags and a rucksack.
Since it was the first real convention at the location it wasn't overcrowded. It was also a lovely wheather so alot of people enjoyed the park outside.
The workshoprooms where quite small, but there were some interesting workshops you normaly don't see at other conventions like Ikebana. The finished piece of the teacher came out so beautifull.
On the outside area was quite a big tent with a group that presented Samurai armour and weapons. The pieces were quite impressive, most of them handmade in hours and hours of crafting.
Next day, this time without a costume I was ready for the final day.

One very cool booth were of a local maker space where you cut see a lasercutter and a 3d printer in action.
On sunday I visited a few more workshops. The furoshiki workshop was quite fun. We learned different ways to wrap things with a furoshiki and how to turn it into a bag.
Another great workshop was by Vinny Vieh about self-publishing. Her pitch for her manga 'Carrier of the Mask' was so good, I bought the first volume at her booth.
A real highlight of the con was the big artist alley with many, many talented artists. So I did a bit of shopping.
Here is my loot!
