NonkiCon was held May 26th and 27th of 2024 in Stadthalle Speyer, Germany
I went to many conventions over the years, but only as guest or as showact when I was younger. NonkiCon 2024 was the first con where I voluntered as a helper which made it a very different con experince.
It was very interesting to look behind the scenes, I was much more involved and talked to many lovely people I wouldn't have talked to otherwise. On the other hand I had way less time to enjoy the convention as a guest and couldn't freely participate in workshops or see performances on the main stage.
Still I could roam around a bit and see the performance of the japanese band Samurai apartment. I even was in cosplay for both days. Saturday Utahime from Jujutsu Kaisen which was a new costume and Hiyori from Noragami, that I've worn a few years back for the first time.
I could buy some nice things, too. Some Tori Miso paste that we used in Sushi, Bubbleteas and a delicous macaron, that was only half price because it was nearing the end of the con. I also got some beautiful prints ans stickers from Chilja and I always love to get some indie comics/doujinshi so I bought Circus Project from Pearlcore which came with a bundle of with prints and stickers!
