Connichi was held September 6th and 8th of 2024 in Wiesbaden, Germany
The second year of Connichi at its new location in Wiesbaden. i decided to go again on saturday. An early bird ticket I got cost 35€ for saturday.
After arriving at the train station it is not far. I waited in line for entry. It was well organized and everyone friendly. When the convention opened the line moved fast and went in to get to the first workshop I wanted to attend: The Kotobukiya model kit workshop.
It was good that went there immediately after entry since the first 20 people got a free model kit and the first 10 people got to sit at a table in the front row and start building their model. Many didn't mind to join the workshop just to watch and ask questions. Overall a very chill and friendly atmosphere.
I was among the people who got a free kit and actually prefered to build it at my own pace at home. I even got the character I liked best.
Next I decided to attend the signing session for the german voice actors (I sadly missed the panels) which meant waiting in line...alot. But I got an autograph from Vincent Fallow who voiced Clive in the german version of Final Fantasy 16 and did a terrific job. I'm really a big fan and was so glad I could get my copy of the game signed. I also got an autograph from Sven Plate who is the german voice for Bugs Bunny for example. Everyone knows his voice.
I checked out the matsuri, the dealers room, the artist alley and other booths. The matsuri is an area were you can play little games and gain points that you can exchange for little small and big merchandise. It cost money to play the games, but when using the Connichi you get a few free games. Even though I wasn't very good I got enough points to get a super sweet pochi pin (the yellow bird mascot of connichi) as well as some Nintendo postcards and stickers.
It was more crowded than the year before. Especially in the food area there were really long lines and it was hot that day. I wanted to get something there but noped out a got a mediocore onigiri inside instead. I was a bit exhausted and hadn't plan what to do when in advance so I didn't see any other panel or event. And I regret that I didn't buy something at the artist alley.
Still, I really think I got my moneys worth. And I was lucky when I went home because there were huge problems with the trains, but I somehow managed to get home even though it took much longer.
Let's look at the loot!
First my cute Kotobukiya kit It got for free (!!!) at the Kotobukiya panel! It's from the Sousai Teien Shoujo series. It felt like a steal running around the rest of the con with the giant Kotobukiya paper bag. Includes in the bag was also a clear file holder and some flyers and a catalogue.
I had so much fun building the figure. I fully poseable and comes with a variety of different faces, hairstyles and so on!
Next some connichi goodies including the cute Pochi pin. I got them via the Connichi app and for playing at the matsuri. You can also see the entry ticket. It's cleverly designed so that can be easily printed and folded (there is a qr code for scanning).
Also more goodies from Nintendo: Stickers, postcards and Yoshi notebooks. Most of the I got at the Matsuri and a few I got at the Nintendo booth.
Next the stiff I got a the dealers room: Different types of Sriracha, Haibane Renmei BluRay (it was very cheap for the whole series like 10€ or something) and a Nanci's Dream Blind box (Rolife Nanci) I couldn't resist (There was a vendor with tons of those incredibly cute blind boxes and part of me wants ALL OF THEM, but my more adult part does not like that they are 15€)
And last but not least: My autographs!
